Fishermen,
The Barbara Anne is now actively fishing for blackfish and sea bass. The sea bass remains strong with some days being better than others and the black fishing started out extremely strong indicating a very good sign moving forward. Please visit our announcements on our blog page. The inshore sea bass fishery is still accessible even under the current federal closure. The federal closure of sea bass concerns all fishing done from three miles offshore and beyond which then becomes primarily a winter fishery. Those dates are from October 11th-Nov. 1st. However, we will be actively sea bass fishing without interruption with our permit, which allows for the harvest of sea bass during the federal closure. The following is open boat dates regarding black fishing and sea bass. I will now extend the open boat option into the month of November unless a charter is requested. Again, every Tues and Thurs in the month of November will be reserved for open boat fishing. This option has seemed to be very effective in allowing individuals to come fishing without the burden of arranging a four-pack charter. As a side note, I am running an open boat this Thursday due to the current forecast. If interested in an open boat date, you can contact Capt. Anthony for updates at the below information.
Now is the time to book a prime date for the fall blackfish. Don’t wait until the fishing heats up and get shut out of a date. Rods and tackle included in fare: All white crabs are supplied free of charge along with sinkers and rigs.

We had the Greg Vongas Charter out for a day of blackfishing with us. The current was screaming as we have just come off a new moon. We did manage 35 fish up to 10lbs with a ton of shorts in the mix. All were caught using green crabs. All in all a favorable day! Thanks guys and hope to see you again. It great fishing with you!

We had an open boat blackfish trip today and we managed to pick fish on every move. Thats a good indication for the weeks to come. We ended the day with 25 fish up to 8lbs and a handful of seabass along with a 32" striper.
10/18/10
We had an open boat today and the fishing was a pick all around. We started the day with some jugs on the bass and managed to jig a few in the boat. Leaving that, we went sinker bouncing for some bottom dwellers. We managed to put 20 tog in the boat to 8lbs along with 30 seabass to 2 1/2 lbs. Also, we had a few bass for the table to round out the catch.
